A Tribute to Our HEROS

U.S. Navy Senior Chief Cryptologic Technician David Blake McLendon, 30, of Thomasville, Georgia, assigned to Naval Special Warfare Group 2 Support Activity in Norfolk, Virginia, was killed September 21, 2010, in a helicopter crash during combat operations in the Zabul province of Afghanistan. McLendon is survived by his wife Kate McLendon, his parents David and Mary-Ann McLendon, his brother Chris McLendon, and his sister Kelly Lockman.


Score one for the good guys!!!

I am sure by now everyone has heard the news that due to the amazing work of our Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) which utilized Special Operations Forces from the US Navy SEALS (SEAL Team Six…aka DEVGRU), Osama Bin Laden has been terminated! Although this does not mark the end of our War on Terror, it does mark the end of the man responsible for bringing innocent death to American soil!

In honor of this day, for the remainder of this week, CrossFit Rockland will only be doing HERO WODs created by CrossFit HQ to honor those lost in the line of duty. Of the 55 HERO WODs that have been created to date, 47 of them are related to the War on Terror.

Although only five of these HERO WODs will be programmed this week, these workouts honor ALL of our past, present, and future military personnel who have given their lives to protect our freedom!

20 Wall balls (20#/14#)
10 Handstand push-ups
