Tales of a Traveling CrossFitter – UK Edition, Day 4

You can get with THIS…or you can get with THAT!!!

Today is the first day I finally feel NORMAL (whatever that is) and you know why??? FOOD!! I can honestly say I have really struggled this trip with FOOD and for the oddest of reasons. Unlike back home in the States, the problem has not been finding quality protein sources! Actually nearly everything is locally farmed, grass fed, totally range free, and antibiotics…what’s that?! In fact, all you see as you drive through Chester and Wrexham are sheep, cows, etc. chilling out at the local farms which are EVERYWHERE! Problem is I cannot find a veggie to save my life!! It is mostly potato, potato, potato…UGH!!!

Finally, today I was brought to this amazing local pub which was actually on the farm itself…amazing food…Pan seared duck breast, roasted sweet potatoes and beats over fresh spinach…now that’s what I’m talkin about! Then for dinner I found this AWESOME place called Moules a go-go which served:
Roasted 1/2 chicken over green beans! Add a side of roasted butternut squash and I was good to go…okay I added a Guinness too, but I am in the UK…don’t judge…HA! It actually looked much better when they served it, but I figured some people might get put off by seeing the actual bird, so I took the liberty of cutting it up and re-plating for those vegetarian readers (if we have any). Hopefully, this new trend in food will continue, but if not I know where to go!

For today’s WOD I decided to do a Traveling CrossFitters version of the CF HQ WOD for today and did:

Five rounds for time of:
5 Dumbbell push jerks
20 Sit-ups

I used the heaviest dumbbells they had which were 20kg or 44lbs each and the sit-ups were anchored (hey why not). I finished in 8:57 which was a little longer than I though it would take, but isn’t that how it always is? I would like to do this one again with a bar and some GHD sit-ups to make it spicy! For those of you who do not know what GHD sit-ups are…be happy! One day you will and you will no longer wanna know!

I have been seeing some great stuff in the comments and I hope you are all well!

Cheers!!
